Christmas time is stressful without the added stress of parcel companies; packaging, sending and receiving gifts can be a bit of a nightmare during the festive season. However, Doddle is here to save the day and make gifting a whole lot easier. Guess what? No queuing in your nearest Post Office is required and best of all, no missed deliveries – hoorah! In other words, less time panicking and more time with your feet up watching cheesy Christmas films.
Doddle recently asked me to be involved with their Christmas ‘Secret Santa’ campaign, “Doddle Says Relax”. I was gifted some John Lewis vouchers to spend on another blogger, of which, I then had to send my present using the Doddle service. And, I would be lying if I said it wasn’t the easiest parcel service I have ever used.
My Secret Santa gift was for Gemma, who blogs a lot about skincare, pampering and beauty related stuff. I seen the Clarins skincare gift set on the John Lewis website and instantly thought it would be a lovely, slightly luxurious, gift for her. The set contains five products that are just perfect for taking off make-up after a long day at work or just for a bit of ‘a spa type’, chilled out, evening. To go alongside the Clarins set, I also chose a ‘John Lewis Man on The Moon Mug’ designed around their 2015 christmas advert. I just thought it was cute to be honest, and would be a great hot chocolate mug! A warm drink and soft skin, what more could you wish for this christmas?
I stuck to the ‘Man on the Moon’ theme as I felt it fitted the situation well: giving a gift to someone who I don’t know as a surprise to celebrate the festive season using a fantastic parcel delivery company, Doddle!
I wrapped my gift for Gemma because seriously, how cute is that wrapping paper and ribbon? I then placed it into an empty box just to keep the two gifts and card safe. I went about my day at university and after finishing my classes, I decided to do some essay planning in a café on campus. Before I sat down, I downloaded the Doddle Runner app and followed the instructions which included taking a photo of my parcel to be collected as well as entering my current location. And you’ll never guess what happened… A runner for Doddle, Wayne, came to the cafe less than an hour later to collect my parcel. It was the best thing ever!
I must add, Wayne, the runner who came to picked up my parcel, was helpful, polite and answered all the questions I had. He rang when he got to my location and I didn’t even have to move from my seat – amazing, right? Five stars for service from me!
All I had to do was confirm that the address the parcel was going to was correct and ta da, my box was placed into a sealed clear plastic bag and off to Doddle it went. They kindly packaged and labelled the parcel for me and it reached Gemma a couple of days later!
Receiving my secret santa gift in return was equally as easy, all I had to do was sign for it. Although, I will say, if you are not going to be in when your parcel is set to be delivered then you can choose to send it to a near by collection point. Convenient, eh? The gift came packaged securely and in a lot of bubble wrap to protect it!
My gift was a rather fancy Decléor Christmas candle, and oh my, it smells incredible. I have never owned a candle as expensive as this, so I was beyond excited when I opened it this morning!
Doddle is a super great, affordable and easy to use delivery service. I will definitely be using it again in the New Year, however, the runner service is currently only available in London but I hope that they make it an option elsewhere! Then again, there are Doddle shops and stations across the country where you can just drop in your parcel to be sent off.
What do you think? Have you used Doddle before or have I inspired you to use it in the future? What do you recommend for a luxury Secret Santa gift? Let me know here!
