As you might already know, in the summer I took part in the London Student Experience with Unite Students. And I’ll be honest, I had so, so, so much fun. Across the few days way back in August, I was fortunate enough to meet some absolutely incredible people who share similar interests to me, such as being creative.
During the four or so days we had the chance to take part in a filmmaking workshop as well as working alongside a marketing team. Day three of the experience was the best bit, as we embarked on a twenty-four-hour adventure across London on a limited budget with the aim of creating a fun student guide. We visited many places including: Greenwich, Neal’s Yard, Container City, Southbank, Lower Marsh and Shoreditch. If you would like to read more about the experience then you will find all of the links by clicking here.
Now onto to the exciting bit… eekkk! You’ll never guess what? WE HAVE ONLY GONE AND BEEN NOMINATED FOR AN AWARD! Yup, all of our hard work on the London Student Experience project has lead to us being nominated in the category of “Low Budget” at The Drum: Social Buzz Awards 2015. We are up against the likes of LateRooms.Com and Warburton’s, so to be nominated is an achievement in itself. And to top off all the excitement… I have been invited to accompany Unite Students and fellow blogger, Jade, at the event – I cannot explain how overwhelmed I am! I am so proud of what we, as a team, managed to put together and it is amazing to know that we are being recognised for it.
So, on Wednesday I will be attending the black-tie awards evening and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a tiny bit nervous. We all know that I don’t really do dressing up, heels (especially heels) and fancy dinners but I am certain it will be an experience! Of course, on Thursday there will be a post up on here about the night, so keep an eye out.
Wish us luck,
