The original Band Aid was a super group formed in 1984 by Sir Bob Geldof. They produced “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” in order to raise money and awareness for the Famine in Ethiopia. Subsequent re-recordings have since been made but this year’s Band Aid 30 is set to be the biggest yet.

Thirty years later Sir Bob Geldof has decided to work alongside the United Nations and raise money for the Ebola Crisis. The track will feature the likes of Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Bono from U2, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and many more.

Yesterday I visited Sarm Studios in the heart of Notting Hill, which was the recording place from 1984. I went down there with the intention of at least catching a glimpse of One Direction (being a top fan)! Fortunately I seen Niall Horan, for the second time in two weeks, who was escorted out the side entrance in an attempt to avoid being crushed and  Liam Payne who stopped to blow a kiss to everyone. Harry Styles slipped into his car without many realising, which meant that once again I was so close yet so far to seeing him. Louis left the building looking like an ickle schoolboy whilst Zayn continued to wear his overly long hair is style.

Much to my surprise my favourite British YouTubers Zoe Sugg (Zoella), Alfie Deyes (PointlessBlog) and Joe Sugg (ThatcherJoe) were also taking part in the single. I was enthralled to catch a selfie with each of them (I then fangirled and cried to myself for a little while, such a loser I know). I GOT A SELFIE WITH ALFIE AHHH.

I also got to see Sam Smith entering the building, who is currently one of my absolute favourite singers. As well as Bono and Emeli Sande leave the studios in blacked out cars, oh how the other half live! The lovely Jessie Ware also stopped for a photograph!

Despite the rain and achy back it was worth spending the day outside the studio as it marks a huge event in the music industry. Oh and it was definitely worth it for the free croissants, mince pies and Starbucks teas that floated round the crowds! Who doesn’t love free things?

I think that you should all go and buy the single once it’s released as it is for a critical epidemic that is affecting the world. The track and music video will premiere on tonight’s X-Factor Results Show.

On a side note, if you are feeling overly charitable then I am theoretically on this year’s Children In Need Single of “Wake Me Up” as I was a part of chorus recording taken at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards, so you can check that out here.
