Hi? Hello? Hey Guys? Meet me (oh how lucky of you), my name is Channon, I'm 18 and welcome to my blog!

Hi? Hello? Hey Guys? Meet me (oh how lucky of you), my name is Channon, I’m 18 and welcome to my blog!

Now, let me just begin by saying that I have never written a blog before or attempted to, so this is completely new to me. I’m also a bit of a ‘twitterer’ so therefore I’m used to explaining my life story in 140 characters, often that isn’t ideal and usually follows the pattern of “I’m tired… zzz zzz” “Food?” or “I need a wee” (well that sets the immediate tone of my new and exciting blog, I apologise already), I know, I’m incredibly interesting.

The thing is, this Summer/Autumn I wanted to set myself a challenge, or several, 1) Have a go (yes, have a go – that bit is important) at writing a book, so far, not so good, 2) Live life a little – I have spent the past couple of years working hard at college so therefore I haven’t had a huge amount of free time, 3) Got to university, and finally 4) try something new – this one actually has relevance to what I’m about to say… (keep reading, you are doing great and if you have got this far then I love you, we can be friends). So, I spent the past fifteen weeks, FIFTEEN :O, since finishing my course, thinking about what I could try that’s new to me and other people might be enlightened by and well, this is it. A BLOG. Yup, I’m excited too.

I’ve just realised I am yet to introduce myself, hi all, my name is Channon, I am 18 years old (or young for the optimists) and live in the ‘sunny’ county that is called Cornwall (if you haven’t heard of it, don’t worry, most people haven’t). I’ve lived in pasty-land my whole life, having been born here, I am now starting to become positively bored of the place – I mean it’s been 18 years com’on? And so, in the next few weeks I am moving away, moving on to bigger and brighter things, which I don’t doubt is going to be tough, (just for the record Cornwall is great, there is just nothing to do when you are 18 and don’t like catching the bus…). I will be living in London, which is six hours from where I live now and is pretty much a polar opposite to the place I call home. Home is tranquil but the best way to describe it is, “a place where nothing much happens”, having said that, I’m probably wrong but this is my honest opinion; London is chaotic and I love the rush of the underground (perhaps not the warm drafts of polluted air so much but that is all part of the experience right?). Growing up in Cornwall has taught me a lot and I have been incredibly lucky to be able to go to the beach in the rain or sun whenever I wanted. I know I will miss that, along with my family the most. But it’s onwards and upwards, and I am so excited.

So, this blog is just a little thing for me to do, nothing too serious. I am also open to new blog type ideas, so if you would like to get in contact with me about anything related to that then click HERE or if you would like a bit of a ‘chinwag’ (aka a chat in Cornish terminology) then my twitter is @heythereChannon or @larrybromance (I can explain!).

If you would like to know more about me then check out my “About Me” page here or if you would like to read about places I’ve visited and my take on some of the most famous landmarks in the world then see “Places I’ve Been”. Although if travel isn’t your scene then have a look at my creative ‘arty’ side under the link “Stuff I’ve Made” or failing that then take a look at “Thing’s I’ve Seen”.

Thank you for having a read of this, don’t forget to leave me a comment (that would be absolutely lovely of you ;)).
