Whether you’re just starting your own business or working to take it to the next level, there are always companies that you can turn to, to inspire success.
To get you started, we’ve listed three of our current favourites and the lessons you can learn from them all.
1. Amazon
It’s almost impossible to create a list of inspiring companies without including Amazon.
As a household name, Amazon is an unstoppable force in the retail industry. It’s become such a success that it’s actually the first place many people go when they need to purchase a product.
Amazon stays at the top because it refuses to sit still.
The company is always experimenting, innovating and finding new ways to dominate the market. While everyone else is struggling to compete with their next-day delivery, Amazon is working on ways to cut this time down to mere hours.
In fact, the fastest UK Amazon delivery was made in just 14 minutes and 8 seconds. How’s that for an incredible service?
The main lesson you can learn from Amazon? Don’t stay the same. There are always ways you can improve and better serve your customers. It’s your job to achieve it.
2. Monzo
The online bank Monzo do everything because of a single, core goal. To be ‘the bank of the future’.
Why? Because they understand their customers. They know the frustrations they suffer using normal banks and the lack of alternatives on the market.
So, they changed it all and changed the market forever.
Everything they do, from the in-build budgeting options and the custom notifications that their users get, are geared towards achieving this goal. If you want to see how consistent brand messaging is done, look no further.
It’s the reason why 40,000 people open a Monzo account every single week.
3. 23andme
For years, genetic testing was something that was only available in specialised labs at a high cost.
Which left us with a lot of unanswered questions about our genetic makeup. We based a lot of decisions about ourselves on family history – if we were lucky enough to know it. If you were adopted or estranged from one side of your family, this information was missing.
That is until Anne Wojcicki made it possible to bring genetic testing to the general market.
By having users submit DNA using a saliva sample sent through the post, they could find out exactly what makes them, them. Which means they’re in the know about any health concerns they’re liable to or even uncover conditions like lactose intolerance.
This genetic testing can also be used to create personalised training and diet plans that are scientifically proven to work for you. Or, for those who want it, it can also let you find your family or delve deeper into your ancestral history.
This company is a fantastic example of using technology to deliver something that customers wanted, but couldn’t access. It answered questions that they had, in one easy solution that they can use to help change their life.
You should think about what you can deliver to your customers.
The cornerstone of any key business is to put your customers first. Think about what exactly it is that you can deliver to them and why they would turn to your company above anyone else.
Once you know this, you have the core of your business and are ready to become your own success story.
